Behind the Scenes with Nely

Just like my alter ego Reflector boy, most of my work happens behind the scenes. But when Nely asked me to help her update the blog, I couldn’t refuse. Really. As luck would have it, I know a great topic for this entry: Nely.

One of the things I love about Nely is her passion for photography. She loves to shoot! Some people think that this means our kids must be trained models but unfortunately, our daughters don’t always cooperate with the camera. Nely is patient and works hard to get her shots.

If you ever wondered what it takes to capture those amazing photos she takes, here’s some behind the scenes footage from a family photoshoot:

so cute! i love the way your children constantly dance around. was there that music playing for real or are they just dancing to the music in their heads?

also, david, i think you inspired keao because now i’m the one that has to go around and hold up a reflector…

Wonderful! Great music and just lots of fun to watch. I’m gonna make sure Midori gets to see her cousins in this one.

Thanks, hon, for blogging! hehe.

Scott, our kids were spazzing to the music in their own heads.

Thanks, Daisy!

so fun to see you work! and so glad to know i’m not the only one sticking a lens in my child’s face!

i love all the craziness that surrounds a “shoot”, especially of kiddos and then you see that certain shot and know that it was ALL WORTH IT!
