Brice and Dorena had an epic wedding, effectively combining Chinese and Christian traditions.
Makeup and hair started at 6:00 in the morning, and Dorena was literally up and happy for it! She was determined to let all the stress of wedding planning melt away so she could enjoy her special day.
Dorena’s sister, Dawna, who was also a bridesmaid, found a good use for her daughter’s birth certificate holder. The tube was perfect for stretching out her high heels!
Per Chinese wedding traditions, Brice had to bargain with Dorena’s family before he was allowed to see his bride.

The initial “demand” from the family was in the seven figures!
Dorena’s sister, Deanna, works for a venture capital firm in the Bay Area so she was perfect for overseeing the bargaining. She ultimately agreed to lower the asking price in exchange for a song and dance! ![]()

Then, it was onto a Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremony.
After lunch and a little rest, it’s off to get ready again! Now, it’s time to put on a pretty white dress!
Deanna was handy with make-up touch-ups!
Dawna was in charge of the veil.
It was a family affair. Even the bride got to work! Dorena’s family actually owns an auto body shop in Honolulu. I think they could have done well with a salon, too!

Thanks, Brice and Dorena, for letting me be part of your beautiful day! And thanks for the pikake lei, my favorite!
