It’s been a while since I’ve shared an album here. I just received these 12×12 and accompanying 5×5 parent album for Katianne and Antony. And I have yet to blog their wedding! Sometime soon. Consider this a sneak peek. Hehe.

Kenny & Kara’s Album

I love getting stuff in the mail. Today, the UPS man was extra nice to me and delivered two albums!

Kenny & Kara chose a landscape 8×12 album. They like things not too conventional so we designed their cover to be a little different, too. Black and white images in various sizes wrap around the whole cover. But I didn’t take pictures of the back.

These are just quick snaps before I had to pack the album back up and ship it to them. Hence, the tissue background .

This next one I get to keep. It’s going to be a sample album from Cathy & Anthony’s wedding. You may view some of the spreads below.

Cathy & Anthony’s Album Design

I thought I’d share some spreads from Cathy and Anthony’s album. They made it difficult to design just a few pages because they had so many great photos to choose from.

This is one of my favorite spreads. I love that picture of Lola. My husband will say it’s because there’s food on it!

I love designing albums. It allows me to not just re-live but also re-tell the story of a wedding day.

Wedding Album

Krystie and Vinnie’s wedding album came in yesterday, and I almost wanted to keep it to myself! Much like the way Kealoha wanted to keep a canvas print once.

I love albums because they tell a story. A more complete story than just a pile of photos. If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words do you think an album is worth?

Looking through their album made me feel like I was there again, at Halekulani Hotel, hearing Krystie’s mom tell the story of how she used to be a tomboy and would not share her He-Man toys with her sister; hearing everyone at the reception say they were fighting back tears during the ceremony; listening to the room erupt in laughter as George, the best man, related stories of his and Vinnie’s escapades…

Photos can be so powerful, can’t they? They’re like little time machines, taking us back to the past and allowing us to re-live moments we sometimes easily forget.
