Sneak Peek: Ares & Bory

Well, hello! How have you all been? It’s been a while, huh?

Instead of making promises about blogging, let me just post a few photos.

Here’s Bory & Ares. Ares is two. And she’s on her way to Harvard. She’s one of the smartest, most precocious child I’ve ever met. I’d done her photos when she was just a year old, and she walked around the park telling me all the letters and numbers she saw. Now that she’s two, she verbalizes her wishes so well and so politely, too. I had so much fun with her and her mommy!

Children’s Portraits: Aidan & Brady

How beautiful are these two?

I love this face! Too adorable! Kealoha is in love with him. She’d been sitting on my lap as I edited these, and she could not stop squealing, “ohmigosh! He’s so cute!”

Their mom, Erin, dances hula. Though he’s only a year old, I think Brady is already practicing for the Merrie Monarch!

When their mom and I were discussing locations for their photo shoot, Erin mentioned that they’re “not beach people, ” and that they’re “tree people.” I think this location at Kualoa Beach Park was perfect for them.

Awww…so sweet!

Erin wanted to do some beach shots anyway because she said, someday, if the boys move away from Hawaii, she wanted them to remember that they lived in the islands when they were little. I think China Man’s Hat in the background should help remind them, right?

Brysen & Dylen

Sorry for neglecting the blog, lately. The weather has been so awesome that we’ve been enjoying being outside more. The sun might have fried my brain, too, as I don’t have much to say. Just pictures to post!;)

We had Brysen and Dylen’s photo session at Kailua Beach, my favorite. Warmed up with some standard portraits…

Then they showed me their best monkey moves…

You can’t go to the beach without making like Baywatch!

Brysen was so camera-aware. He’d run, then he’d stop and pose for the camera!

Then it was time to clean up…

It’s time to go! But wait, the light just got really good. Let’s take a couple more!

Jolai and Josanna

The day of Jolai and Josanna’s portrait session, I’d been running around all day preparing for the weekend, and I was exhausted. I asked my friend, Jen, to pray for me, as I didn’t feel I had any creativity or energy to do a photo shoot.

Jolai was the answer to prayer. She is a ball of energy, and she had me running around all over the place and laughing so hard that I felt rejuvenated afterwards. I love this little girl. She’s our friends’ daughter. I remember borrowing her when she was a baby so I could take photos of her. Now, she can run circles around me.

See those rocks behind her? I had asked her earlier if she wanted to come over our place the next day so she can play Rock Band. She saw those rocks, turned to me and said, “Aunt Nely, why don’t you put down your camera? We can play rock band right here!” lol!

We’d come upon a hill earlier so I asked Jolai if she was sure she wanted to climb up. She said, “Of course! I can climb as well as a mountain goat!” lol! Then, she found this rock. Her mom asked her to please sit like a lady. She said, “No, mommy. I’d rather lie down like this, like a mountain goat!”

Josanna wasn’t so impressed by my “knock, knock” jokes. She was upset that we woke her up from her nap.

Ah, have I mentioned lately, how much I love my job? I get paid to work with beautiful people who energize me. Thanks Zach and Erica for trusting me to photograph your little girls!

Caution: Cuteness Overload

Lori wanted photos in Elianna’s nursery but she thought it was a little “plain.” I think it’s beautiful!
