Jason & Tisha | Hawaii portrait photography

Yesterday, while on the phone with my sister, I mentioned that I was editing Jason and Tisha’s portraits. She said, “Tisha’s so beautiful. But she’s just as goofy as she is beautiful so you can’t hate her for being beautiful!”

Goofy. Probably why we take pictures like this in public places! She brings out the wacky in me, too! And no, we hadn’t had a single sip of margarita before we snapped this shot (and many others like it!) Check out the bottom of the pic, I just noticed the wolf howling at us! haha!

Tisha was our College and Career Pastor at Hope Chapel Kaneohe way back when David and I were younger (you see, we aged but somehow, Tisha didn’t!). She poured many tears, prayers, wisdom, and lots of laughter on us, and we love her so!

So, we’re so happy to see her with someone who looks at her this way.

Jason is a Pastor, too.

Ah, I love laughing pictures! They’re both hilarious! I think we scared some tourists with our laughs! Sorry, tourists! (Oy, I just realized I was a tourist, too! )

These two must watch America’s Next Top Model because they sure knew how to work the camera!

This next one may be my favorite. It captures a softer, quiet side of her.

Family Portraits: Nakagawa Family

My brain cells are clogged by thoughts of beefy, yummy pho. So can I just post photos with no narrative?

This family was awesome, though. I loved just hanging out with them and capturing them as they played!

We were trying to take a more formal family portrait, and of course their dog wanted to be in it, too! Walked into the frame at the perfect time!

Thanks, Mike, Dar, Katie, and Mikey for allowing me into your home. I felt blessed having spent time with you!

Jon, Grachela, and Cody

While I was in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to photograph Jon, Grachela, and Cody at their home.

Can’t you see just how smitten his parents are with Cody? They couldn’t keep their eyes off of him.

Lisa & Noah. Portraits. Kualoa Beach Park

Look at this face! So cute!

If Lisa and Noah look familiar, it’s because you might have seen them here. Lisa is Kara’s sister.

6/28/08 was a big day for Noah. He went to the beach for the first time.

And he stood up on his own for the first time! I think he wanted to make sure it was documented at a photo shoot!

Pepsi (Lisa’s first baby) was so proud of Noah, she gave him a kiss as soon as his face was within reach!

I remember reading on Shane & Shane’s website that Shane Barnard prays that God do something at each performance, that it would be more than songs, more than their instruments. It inspired me to pray as I go to each photo shoot. That it would be more than me and my camera. My creativity is limited but His is limitless. I pray that whomever I’m photographing would be blessed. On this day, God really camethrough. The awesome light was His gift, I believe…
