Anthony & Cathy’s Wedding: Morcom Rose Garden – Oakland wedding photography

Cathy & Anthony had their beautiful wedding at the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland and their reception at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant in Jack London Square.

As soon as she had her dress on, Anthony’s brother, Andrew, went back to the car. He came back with a gift from Anthony.

While getting ready, Cathy vowed she wouldn’t cry. She just misted up a little

Their baby, Lola.

I think Lola might have been a little worried. The tea Cathy & Anthony were having is supposed to help them have lots of babies or something like that!

Their friend sang Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” for their first dance.

Then, their friends had a little surprise number for them!

Thank you so much, Cathy and Anthony for letting me be a part of your special day. Your friends and family were so welcoming and so hospitable. I felt like I was at a fine dining restaurant, constantly being asked if I needed water or anything. Oh, and Cathy, my husband has always been impressed by my shopping loot, but I think you’re in a completely different league! I don’t know a Dunkin’ Donuts who’ll unlock a cell phone!

Vinnie & Krystie – Halekulani Hotel – O`ahu, Hawaii

Earlier this spring, Vinnie sent me an inquiry through the contact form on my website. The message box said “I’m getting married! You want to shoot my wedding?” How could I have refused. I just thought it was funny considering we’ve been friends for over 10 years, and he could have just called me. We met through our college/career group at Hope Chapel Kaneohe. We love Vinnie. He’s one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Yet, he’s tough – he’s a cop and a member of the National Guard. (pray for him as he’s being deployed to the Middle East sometime next month). I was completely honored to have been part of his and Krystie’s wedding day at Halekulani Hotel!

It was so awesome to witness just how happy they are!

Krystie’s sister who will also be getting married in December.

Their wedding was officiated by our good friend, Tisha Lehfeldt, who used to be our College Group Leader. She’s near and dear to my and David’s hearts, as she mentored and poured so much time and love to us before we were married. I still email her, sometimes, when I need counsel. She was the MC at our own wedding (nine years ago today!) . We so love her!

There was a lot of this during the reception. One particular table would wait until Vinnie took a bite then started furiously clinking their glasses. Poor Vin, he finally caught on and just stopped eating!

Lori wanted photos in Elianna’s nursery but she thought it was a little “plain.” I think it’s beautiful!

Wedding at a private residence: Jason & Mara | San Diego Wedding Photography

My mom always told me to start the new year doing what you’d like to be doing the rest of the year. When I was little, she also told me to jump up and down right at midnight on New Year’s day so I’d grow taller. Obviously that didn’t work; I still have to shop in the petites department. Or maybe it did do something. My sister did not receive the same advice, and she got stuck at 4′11 -3/4″! Maybe if I didn’t jump, I’d be fighting for 3/4 of an inch, too!:)

Oh yeah, so I’m starting as I’d like to continue the year, blogging the beautiful wedding of two wonderful people, Jason & Mara.

Persian Wedding at the La Jolla Marriott: Nahal & Kamron | San Diego Wedding Photography

Sometime last week, Emily sent me the timeline for Nahal & Kamron’s wedding. Since I had not photographed nor attended a Persian wedding before, I asked my dear friend, Google, for information. Mr. Goog graciously led me to YouTube, where the girls and I spent a good hour watching numerous videos of Persian weddings, replete with traditional knife dances and honey exchanges. When I saw Emily on Saturday, she told me she had done the same thing! Ah, what would we do without the internet?

Every detail in Nahal and Kamron’s wedding at the La Jolla Marriott was gorgeous: from the beautiful flowers, to the meaningful items in their sofreh, to their warm, expressive families. I felt so honored to have been able to take part in it.

They were so cute together. I love these “in-between” moments when the couple isn’t conscious of the camera, and they can just relax and enjoy each other…
