I’d said I wouldn’t blog because I wouldn’t have much to say. And l’ve been bloggin for almost 3 months…
I said “myspace is for young people. I’m not that young, anymore.” Ha! Guess who’s now on Myspace? Me. I initially got an account so I can see my sister’s private profile (which means lots of photos of my nephew). But just last week, i actually clicked on her other friends and found old friends in the process. I also found some of David’s cousins online. I left comments for them and got replies so David got jealous and opened an account, too! lol! He didn’t invite me to be his friend though. What’s up with that?
Though some of the pages are too much stimulation for my tired, old eyes, I think it’s pretty cool to see people’s connections with each other. It’s also awesome to reconnect with old friends I haven’t talked to in a while. Like my friend, Gabe, who now works in Japan. I’ve always loved tormenting him, and now I can do it virtually:) Before you think how mean I am, I only really just ask him if he has a girlfriend, yet –each time I talk to him! I’m like the old proverbial, happily-married girl who wants the same happiness for her single friends…
On another note, does anyone have any children’s book recommendations? Keilah has pretty much read all of Beverly Cleary books, as well as Encyclopedia Brown and Nancy Drew series. On Saturday, I woke up to see her reading
Children Demand a Verdict” by Josh McDowell at the foot of my bed. It’s a book David read a few years ago when Keilah started asking tough questions about faith. It’s a great book, and she seemed to enjoy it. But having her rifling through our bookshelves, instead of hers and Kealoha’s, makes me think she’s needing more material to read. I suppose it wouldn’t be so bad if she started reading some Max Lucado, Phillip Yancey, or John Maxwell books. But I feel like she’s just growing up too fast. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend reads for a six-year-old bibliophile? Thanks!
