Happy Valentine’s Day!

David and I got ourselves a weight set for Valentine’s Day. And it was MY idea. Me, the girl who used to think that a workout routine means doing TaeBo 3 times a YEAR, proposed to my husband that we get exercise equipment for Valentine’s Day! Romantic, huh? And that was the extent of our Valentine’s Day plans…

Except, last night, he came home with a bouquet of red tulips. So unexpected and welcomed. Even better was the bouquet of king crab legs he presented me. Yup, a bouquet of king crab legs. Now, that’s my idea of romance! Oh, and he got brownie points for getting everything from Costco, which means he didn’t break the budget for overpriced flowers! He’s ordered me flowers online before, and I thanked him then gently reminded him that he can get great-quality roses and such at Costco for like $12.99/dozen. Didn’t I mention that I’m a bargainist? he he! I’m not sure if bargainist is a word, but I like it! Sounds better than cheap! :P

pray.jpg During prayer time last night, this girl prayed: “Thank you Jesus for my mommy who is funny. She makes me laugh. And thank you for my daddy who is not as funny….” LOL! And speaking of funny prayers, Keilah had a pretty good one a couple months ago, too: “Dear Jesus, thank you for cows to make beef and pigs to make ham!” The best part was, we weren’t having either beef or ham for dinner that night!

I just have to say I’m so thankful for my family. My husband and my girls are pretty awesome. They make me laugh and cry. I love them so. Even if they scold me for laughing during prayer time…

Bargainist? Awesome.

What she doesn’t tell the rest of you is that besides the if-it’s-not-on-sale-don’t-buy-it mindset, she also has the uncanny, practically magical ability to detect sales in progress.

After years of observation, I’m still uncertain as to how she knows just when and where to go for those great deals. If anybody has some grant money available, I would love to devote my full time and energy to discover the secrets of this wonderful mystery.
