1. Go to Balboa Park. On rotating Tuesdays of the month, certain museums are free. Our favorites are Ruben H. Fleet Science Center and The Model Railroad Museum. I love MoPA, too, but it usually takes a bribe to get the kids to not run around and knock things over.
2. Rubio’s. $1 fish tacos after 4:oopm. Need I say more?
3. Regal Family Festival. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Regal shows free movies at 10:00. Check out a theater near you for a schedule.
4. Go to the park. Go on the slides with the kids. It’s exercise (or it feels like it to me because I’m getting old and out of shape)!
5. Pat & Oscar’s. Kids eat free on Tuesdays. Ummm, breadsticks. (Yeah, I’m a foodie, but don’t worry, I’ll stop at two eating entries)
6. Fly a kite. (Singing the Mary Poppins song optional!).

7. Library story time. Books and music, what’s not to like? Plus, they have cool prizes for their summer reading program!
8. Catch bugs. Ok, so I just watch the kids do it, and say, “that’s cool, baby!”
9. Go to SeaWorld. Shamu and funnel cake! Not together, of course. We don’t eat whales. Not on Tuesdays, anyway;)…Oops, I think I just added another food-related item.
10. Put on some music and dance! I usually close the blinds so I don’t scare the neighbors when we do this. After all, my sister once asked me to go take a dance class with her because she’d be sure she wouldn’t be the worst in the class! lol! Not that I could have gone to a class with her; she lives an ocean away!
What are your mid-week favorites? I’m always curious to see what others enjoy doing. Especially in the summer when the kids are home full-time.
