Perfectionism…

You could never tell by my constant struggle with clutter in our apartment that I’m by nature a perfectionist. But I am. Admission is the first step to recovery, I hear. So there is mine…

Today, as I started slogging through 50 gigs of raw and jpeg images I shot in Hawaii, I was just not “feeling” my photos. So I IM my husband. He knew I was spending my day editing. “ugh. I suck!” is the profound message I send him.

His reply: “no you don’t. in pursuit of perfection, do not discount or discard that which is only slightly imperfect or you will miss out on the wonderful things you have in front of you.”

Pretty deep, huh?

And, how many times have we looked at a photo thinking that it’s awful only to fall in love with in the most in the end. the imperfections perfect it!
