The 2 people who read my blog noted that I’ve been slacking. So, here I am. With my scattered thoughts.
I’ve been knocked-out by horrible headaches the past few days so Keilah gave me this before she left for school today:
So sweet. So funny that she signed it “from your oldest child.” So very Keilah to write me a note like that. She’s a lot like me. She’s not openly affectionate but prefers to express her feelings on paper. She is my child after all. Though she looks just like her daddy.
And her daddy (nice segue, huh?) is playing “It Is Well” in the living room right now. It’s been a while since he picked up his guitar. I love it when he does because he doesn’t just play, David worships…Though we usually prefer contemporary music, “It is Well,” an old hymn, has become one of our favorite songs. It’s hard not to be inspired by the lyrics, especially after Brian, our worship leader, shared the story of its writing. The story is actually on Wikipedia. What awesome faith. To sing “Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, Oh My Soul” when you’re in the depths of grief….
