I realized I haven’t done Ten on Tuesday in a while.
1. Last night, as I was lying in bed ready to go to sleep, I noticed my husband moving his palm slowly towards me. Back and forth he went, sometimes angling his hand, stopping just centimeters away from my face. Puzzled, I asked him what he was doing, and he said, “Well, you’re backlit; I’m trying to see how well my palm works as a reflector!” LOL! Um, I think he’s working towards earning his cape as Reflector Boy!
2. I was the Thumb War champion in our family yesterday. I beat Keilah, Kealoha, and David! Woohoo! It’s an accomplishment I know will make my mother proud! She raised such an over-achiever!
I’ve since told David I’m never playing thumbwar ever again because I don’t want to lose my hard-earned title!
3. My poor mom. I can see her now, shaking her head, thinking, “why doesn’t she just post pictures instead?”
4. The other day, David was getting ready to go to church when Keilah accosted him.
K: Where are you going, daddy?
David: “To Youth Group”
K: What’s youth group for?
D: A group for young people.
K:”But daddy, you’re not young!”
ha ha! I’m glad I’m not the only the kids tell the “truth” to.
5. When I see pictures of Keilah like this, I can’t help but think I’m getting a glimpse of the future. She’s so cerebral, I can so see her being the entomologist she wants to become.
Brine shrimp eggs and whatever else she can fit between two pieces of microscope slides. Lovely.
7. The microscope set was a gift from John John, David’s cousin, who chooses his friends by height, methinks
8. After going to law school here in San Diego for a couple years, he went back home to Hawaii in December. He came to visit us for a week earlier this month, and now, he’s thinking of maybe coming back to live here. I’m surprised he hasn’t deemed us too weird to hang out with. Maybe because we finally let him win at African Rummy. ha ha!
9. I love hearing Kealoha, in the middle of playing, belt out: “I love you, all of my hope is in you! Jesus Christ, take my life, take all of me!” It’s the only part of the song, “Take All of Me” by Hillsongs United that she remembers. But I love that she sings it, anyway!
10. Ah, I’m so going to miss her when she starts preschool next week! Yep, I got brave and finally signed her up!
Have a great Tuesday, everyone:)
