Our family was at the mall yesterday – trying to find items for a family project – when Kealoha saw the wishing well. Immediately, she asked me for coins to throw in.
I told her she could have some on our way back. If you know five-year-olds, they hold you to your word. (David and I know that when we have a project we’d like to undertake, we tell the kids; they keep us accountable!)
So sure enough, she asked for coins as we approached the well on our way back. I fished in my wallet for a few coins, and handed them to her.
Earnestly, she stood in front of the well, looking deep in thought. She threw in the coins one at a time. Then she smiled!
She asked me if I knew what she wished for.
I told her no.
Triumphantly, she told me, “I wished that you wouldn’t give me toilet paper for Christmas!”
LOL.
